Acupuncture Pain Management Center
FAQ
What conditions do you treat?
Everyone can benefit from acupuncture as it is excellent preventative medicine. However, most patients seeking acupuncture are looking for relief from a health issue that has a daily impact on their lives. Here are some of the health goals that I address:
back, neck, shoulder, knee pain relief; all pain conditions
shingles virus pain relief
stress and anxiety relief
sleep problems
improved energy and mental clarity
anxiety and depression
feeling more calm and grounded
immune support
How often should I come?
Depending upon the severity and duration of symptoms, your provider will devise a treatment plan which is taylored specifically for you. Often chronic painful conditions require 2 treatments/week for the first several weeks to get the pain under control. Committing to a course of treatments is essential for best results. For many people seeking stress mangement and non-pain conditions, weekly treatments are typically prescribed.
What are the side effects of acupuncture?
Patients often report a feeling of well being, restored, calm. Other side effects include stress reduction, better sleep, and less incidence of sickness. Acupuncture is employed often to reduce the negative side effects associated with chemotherapy, and post operative pain.
Do you accept insurance?
I do not accept insurance for payment of services. I do provide a superbill which patients may submit to their insurance provider for reimbursement if they have coverage. Keep on mind, many policies have high deductibles and co-pays and only cover limited and M.D. diagnosed conditions. My rates are competitive, even without insurance.
Do you accept Medicare or Medicaid?
No. State of MD is still severely restricting coverage and parameters of coverage.
How much does a treatment cost?
The cost of treatment depends on your treatment plan as determined during the consultation as well as which treatment package is selected. The consultation itself is completely free, and it is a necessary step in determining what the cost and value of treatment will be for you. Frequency and length of treatment will be determined during the consultation. Initial consultation and treatment costs $150 and follow up sessions run $100-120.00. I accept venmo, cash or check.

Katie's manner is great for alternative medicine skeptics like me and I highly recommend her. She is very knowledgeable and very patient.
If I had to pinpoint Katie's discriminator in her approach, its that she listens. She takes it all in, seeking to understand your story. Your path (your journey) is important to her assessment. She probes...a lot, asking questions that allow you to share information that often might go unsaid. But the real discriminator is she studies your situation, and her plan for you will be an individualized plan. Its apparent at each appointment, your situation has been on her mind. The connections she has made in how my pain travels has driven her to focus on other areas outside of the actual pain location and she appears to be tacking the root of the pain. I only wish I had found Katie earlier.
